Vietnamese tycoon faces execution unless she repays 11 billion dollars

Vietnamese prosecutors have ordered a property tycoon named Truong My Lan to repay around $11 billion in order to avoid being executed by lethal injection.

The 68-year-old businesswoman is currently appealing her death sentence after being convicted in April for embezzling $12.3 billion from Saigon Commercial Bank. Along with embezzlement, Lan was also found guilty of bribing government officials and violating bank lending regulations.

This case has gained significant attention due to the large scale of the alleged financial misconduct and the severe penalties involved.
