ubs begins migration of credit suisse clients to new platform

UBS has started transferring Credit Suisse clients to its platform, successfully transitioning the first group. The CEO of UBS, Sergio Ermotti, previously identified this migration as the most significant risk of the merger.

The migration process will involve approximately 1.3 million Credit Suisse clients being moved to UBS's platform over the next few quarters. This will include the transfer of personal, financial, and regulatory compliance data, with Credit Suisse's data stock totaling around 110 petabytes.

The upcoming migrations will take place in Luxembourg, Hong Kong, and Singapore, with the remaining countries completing the transition by the end of 2025. As part of the integration, UBS is streamlining operations by deactivating about 90 percent of the applications previously used by Credit Suisse, including shutting down 560 applications and 40,000 servers.
