BC Partners is close to finalizing a deal to sell a significant portion of its controlling stake in GardaWorld, a Canadian security services firm, back to its management team.
The company is valued at approximately C$13.5 billion ($9.8 billion).
The transaction involves divesting a majority of BC Partners' 51% stake to Stephan Cretier, the founder and chairman of GardaWorld, as well as other members of the management team.
To facilitate the management team's acquisition, a consortium of private credit firms, led by HPS Investment Partners, is committing several billion dollars.
This move represents a strategic shift for BC Partners as it looks to exit a substantial investment in the security sector.
