hospitality sector warns of job cuts due to tax hike plans

The proposed tax hike in the UK hospitality sector has raised concerns among industry leaders.

Over 200 executives, including those from Whitbread Plc and Fuller, Smith & Turner Plc, have signed a letter expressing worries about the impact of increased national insurance contributions.

The letter warns that these changes, along with adjustments to the national minimum wage, could place a significant annual burden of £3.4 billion ($4.4 billion) on the industry.

The sector's leaders are urging the government to reconsider these measures in order to protect jobs and the viability of businesses within the industry.
