UBS has expressed optimism about easyJet plc, a prominent low-cost airline in Europe.
easyJet is a leading low-cost airline in Europe, with a strong track record in passenger transport. In the fiscal year 2022/23, the airline carried an impressive 82.8 million passengers, making passenger transport a significant contributor to its sales, accounting for 63.9%.
The company also generates revenue from ancillary services, which make up 36.1% of its sales. These services include baggage handling, catering, and car rental, providing additional sources of income for easyJet.
As of September 2023, easyJet operates a fleet of 336 aircraft, enabling it to serve its diverse customer base across various markets. Geographically, the United Kingdom is the largest contributor to its sales, accounting for 53.2%. Other significant markets include Switzerland at 9.7%, France at 10.4%, Southern Europe at 17.5%, Northern Europe at 7.5%, and a small portion from other regions at 1.7%.
