Bajaj Auto Addresses Dealer Inventory and Price Cut Concerns for Freedom Model

Bajaj Auto has responded to concerns about dealer inventory and potential price cuts for its recently launched CNG motorcycle model, 'Freedom,' and the 'Pulsar' bike.

The company clarified that 72% of the Freedom portfolio has not experienced any price or feature changes since its launch. A Rs 5,000 price reduction was only applied to the entry-level variant at the end of October, which represents 13% of retail sales for the range.

Bajaj Auto stated that it has dispatched 67,000 units of the Freedom motorcycle to dealers, contrary to the 80,000 units cited by a brokerage report. Of these, 40,000 units have been sold, with 33,000 registered on the Vahan portal. The company emphasized that the closing inventory with dealers is within the normal range required for a two-tiered distribution system.

Despite a recent decline in share prices, Bajaj Auto's stock has seen a year-to-date increase of 31%.
