tarbucks resorts to manual tracking after vendor ransomware attack

Starbucks Corp. is currently experiencing disruptions in its employee payment tracking system due to a ransomware attack on its third-party software supplier, Blue Yonder Group Inc., a subsidiary of Panasonic.

As a result of the incident, which took place on November 21, the coffee giant has had to resort to manual methods for tracking workers' scheduling and hours.

Blue Yonder, a well-known provider of supply chain management software, has reported that its systems were compromised, affecting multiple clients, including Starbucks. The company had been using Blue Yonder's software to manage shift scheduling and monitor the hours of retail workers throughout North America.
