Automobile companies are currently facing challenges due to factors such as elections and adverse weather conditions, which have impacted sales in the first half of FY2025.
Despite hopes for a recovery after the festive season, November data showed disappointing results, with wholesale dispatches across passenger vehicles, two-wheelers, and commercial vehicles only showing single-digit year-on-year growth.
Tata Motors has particularly struggled, contributing to the overall decline in passenger vehicle sales. However, market leaders such as Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai Motor India, and Mahindra & Mahindra reported a more positive performance, achieving approximately 10 percent year-on-year increases in wholesales.
These mixed results highlight the ongoing difficulties within the automotive sector as it navigates a challenging economic landscape.
