Citigroup Inc. CEO Jane Fraser has expressed optimism about the banking sector benefiting from anticipated regulatory changes under President-elect Donald Trump.
Fraser believes that the Basel III Endgame, which includes stringent capital regulations, may be relaxed or not enacted at all. She also mentioned that any increase in capital requirements for U.S. banks is expected to be lower than the previously proposed 9% hike.
This change in regulatory approach could create a more favorable environment for banks, allowing them to have more operational flexibility and financial stability in the future.
