The Competition Commission of India (CCI) is looking into allegations made by WinZO, a real-money gaming company, against Google for engaging in anti-competitive practices.
The investigation is centered around claims that Google is misusing its dominant market position by favoring specific real-money games, limiting market access, imposing advertising restrictions, and providing misleading warnings during app downloads.
The CCI has expressed a preliminary view that Google may be violating various sections of competition law and has instructed the Director General to conduct a thorough investigation and submit a report within 60 days.
This development presents another regulatory challenge for Google in India, its largest user market.
