GE HealthCare Achieves 13 Percent Emissions Cut with Innovative Eco-Friendly Solutions

GE HealthCare has made significant progress in sustainability, achieving a 13% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions in 2023.

At RSNA 2024, the company demonstrated its commitment to eco-friendly practices by highlighting the recovery of 7,375 imaging machines, resulting in over 15 million pounds of reused materials.

One of their innovative solutions is the CT motion syringeless injector, which has successfully reduced plastic waste by 84.6% at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

They have also introduced energy-efficient systems like the Revolution Apex with Energy Saving Mode 2.0, which can reduce power consumption by up to 80%.

To address environmental concerns, GE HealthCare has launched a manganese-based MRI contrast agent as a sustainable alternative to gadolinium.

These initiatives demonstrate the company's ongoing efforts to improve patient care while minimizing its environmental impact.
