China's top lithium producers, Tianqi Lithium Corp. and Ganfeng Lithium Group Co., have experienced significant losses this year due to a decline in battery metal prices and an oversupply in the market.
Tianqi reported a net loss of 496 million yuan in the third quarter, compared to a profit of 1.65 billion yuan during the same period last year. Similarly, Ganfeng's net quarterly profit decreased by 25% to 120 million yuan.
These results highlight the ongoing challenges faced by major players in the lithium sector as they deal with falling prices and increased competition.
