euro area consumer inflation expectations rise slightly in october

In October, there was a slight increase in consumer inflation expectations in the euro area, as reported by the European Central Bank.

The most recent monthly survey shows that consumers predict a 2.5% increase in prices over the next year, compared to 2.4% in September. This is the lowest recorded inflation expectation since September 2021.

Furthermore, the three-year inflation expectation remains stable at 2.1%, slightly above the ECB's target. This rise in consumer expectations may lead policymakers to approach interest rate adjustments cautiously in the near future.
