Hoffmann Neopac to cut 37 jobs with production shift to Netherlands

Hoffmann Neopac, a packaging specialist, has announced plans to relocate part of its production operations from Thun, Switzerland to Dronten in the Netherlands.

Reason for Relocation

This move is aimed at enhancing competitiveness and will result in the elimination of 37 full-time equivalent positions at the Thun site. The company is transferring three metal box production lines to its new location. The decision is a response to increasing price pressures in the metal box market and the need to consolidate operations.

Impact on Jobs

While job losses will occur, 57 positions will remain at the Thun facility. The company's other operations and foreign subsidiaries will not be affected. Hoffmann Neopac operates six production sites globally and employs approximately 1,250 individuals.

Expected Benefits

The relocation is expected to improve operational efficiency and adaptability. The decision is influenced by the loss of significant clients in Switzerland and the adverse effects of currency fluctuations. The company aims to optimize its operations and leverage a more favorable business environment in the Netherlands.
