FPT Corp., a prominent software and telecommunications company in Vietnam, plans to establish an AI data center in Japan to expand its international presence.
The center is expected to start operating in January 2025 and is part of the company's strategic efforts to meet the global demand for artificial intelligence solutions.
The initial phase of the project will require a $200 million investment, and the partners involved have not been disclosed.
The new facility will utilize Nvidia Corp.'s AI technology, similar to a $200 million data center project announced earlier in Vietnam.
FPT Chairman Truong Gia Binh emphasized the company's commitment to leveraging AI advancements for its overseas expansion and capitalizing on the growing AI market.
