Foreign Institutional Investors Continue Buying Streak Amid Domestic Selling Pressure

FIIs continued to buy shares, with a net purchase of Rs 8,540 crore, as the Sensex closed at 81,765.86, up 809.53 points or 1 percent.

The Nifty also saw a significant increase, ending at 24,708.40, up 240.95 points or 0.98 percent. This is the third consecutive day of net buying by FIIs, while DIIs were net sellers, selling shares worth Rs 2,304 crore.

DIIs recorded purchases of Rs 13,396 crore and sales of Rs 15,699 crore during the trading session. In contrast, FIIs bought shares worth Rs 24,717 crore and sold equities worth Rs 16,177 crore. Year-to-date figures show that FIIs have net sold Rs 2.86 lakh crore, while DIIs have net bought shares valued at Rs 5.75 lakh crore, indicating a significant divergence in investment trends between domestic and foreign investors.
