byjus founder allegedly urged associate to flee us before court testimony

Byju Raveendran, the founder of Byju's, an Indian edtech firm, is facing serious allegations of attempting to persuade a Nebraska businessman to leave the United States to avoid testifying in federal court.

It is alleged that Raveendran sent a plane ticket to Dubai just two days before a scheduled hearing where new accusations against him were set to be presented.

The businessman, William R. Hailer, was expected to provide testimony regarding Raveendran's alleged misuse of loan proceeds, which he supposedly concealed from U.S. lenders. Hailer was also expected to discuss Raveendran's attempts to secretly repurchase a software company that had been taken over by an American trustee, raising further questions about the executive's financial dealings and transparency.
