The software publishing sector had a successful year in 2023, generating sales of €21.7 billion. A large majority of publishers have implemented Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) strategies, and many have identified artificial intelligence as a top priority.
Although workforce growth was slower compared to the previous year, pure players, who make up the majority of software sales, continue to thrive. Looking ahead to 2024, most software publishers plan to hire and are considering acquisitions to expand their international business. The recurring nature of their business model, particularly through Software as a Service (SaaS), contributes to their resilience. Profitability remains strong, and publishers are increasingly relying on cash flow as a strategic advantage.
