The Kenyan Central Bank Governor, Kamau Thugge, has stated that the shilling is currently at appropriate levels after its impressive performance this year.
The currency has seen a 21% appreciation against the US dollar, making it the top-performing currency globally. Thugge has emphasized that policymakers are prepared to use the country's high foreign reserves to protect the shilling, which is currently trading at 129 per dollar. This proactive approach demonstrates the central bank's dedication to maintaining currency stability amidst significant gains.
