Tesla is offering a discount on its Model Y vehicles in China to boost sales.
Customers who purchase the more affordable Model Y variants by December 31 can receive a discount of RMB 10,000 ($1,380). However, the discount does not apply to the Performance version of the Model Y, which remains priced at RMB 354,900 ($49,008).
Tesla has also extended a 5-year, 0% interest financing offer for both the Model 3 and Model Y.
The company aims to clear out existing inventory before the updated Model Y, codenamed Model Y Juniper, enters production in early 2025.
Tesla has seen significant sales of the Model Y, with 373,852 units sold compared to 126,833 units of the Model 3 in the first ten months of the year.
The company's ability to adapt to changing market conditions and sustain demand will be crucial. Tesla's future growth trajectory remains uncertain, and factors such as the production of the Cybertruck and advancements in Full Self Driving (FSD) technology could impact its market position.
