smallcaps surge as broader indices continue upward momentum in November

The BSE Sensex and Nifty50 both experienced gains in the week ending November 29. The Sensex increased by 685.68 points, or 0.86 percent, closing at 79,802.79. The Nifty50 rose by 223.85 points, or 0.93 percent, finishing at 24,131.10.

Despite this weekly rally, the Sensex had a modest increase of 0.5 percent for November, while the Nifty experienced a slight decline of 0.30 percent. Smallcap stocks performed well, with over 100 smallcap companies delivering double-digit returns. The BSE Midcap, Smallcap, and Largecap indices reported gains of 2.3 percent, 5 percent, and 1.6 percent, respectively.

Sector performance varied, with the Nifty Media index surging by 5.5 percent, followed by the Nifty PSU Bank index at 4.7 percent, and the Nifty Oil & Gas index rising by 4 percent. However, the Nifty Auto and Information Technology indices faced challenges, each shedding 0.5 percent.
