India's Goods and Services Tax (GST) collection for November 2024 is projected to exceed Rs 1.87 lakh crore, surpassing the previous month's collection and marking the second-highest monthly revenue ever.
The anticipated growth in GST collection is attributed to strong domestic sales during the festive season, with approximately Rs 1.70 lakh crore already collected for the month. However, some revenue inflows from Maharashtra and Jharkhand are still pending due to ongoing elections.
While November's GST collection is expected to reflect the consumption patterns from October's festive activities, crossing the Rs 2-lakh-crore threshold may prove challenging. The highest collection recorded to date was Rs 2.1 lakh crore in April.
