Monson Savings Bank has appointed Michelle Cayo as its new vice president and Credit Risk Officer. Cayo's extensive experience in the banking sector and dedication to community service aligns with the bank's core values and mission.
In her new role, Cayo will oversee the Commercial Credit department, training credit analysts and ensuring efficient operations. She will also contribute to the development of commercial loan policies and serve on the bank's loan review committee.
Cayo brings over 26 years of banking experience, previously serving as vice president and Credit Risk Officer at Florence Bank. She has also held significant roles in the Credit departments of Hampden Bank and Country Bank. Cayo's educational background includes a bachelor's degree in business administration and a master's degree in communications and information management from Bay Path University. She has also completed advanced studies at the Massachusetts Bankers Association School of Financial Studies and the American Bankers Association Stonier Graduate School of Banking.
Cayo is deeply committed to community service and serves as a board member for Cancer Connection and a wish granter for the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Massachusetts and Rhode Island. She was recognized as Volunteer of the Year by Western Mass Women magazine in 2013.
