India France trade needs improvement for stronger economic collaboration says Goyal

The current level of trade between India and France is described as "suboptimal" by Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal.

In FY24, trade between the two nations reached $15 billion, with Indian exports at approximately $7 billion and imports at $8 billion, indicating a balanced trade relationship.

Goyal emphasized the potential for growth and urged both countries to collaborate more effectively through bilateral agreements and multilateral platforms. He also highlighted the importance of strengthened technological cooperation to address challenges like climate change, emphasizing the need to leverage the strengths of both economies for greater trade expansion.
