Lebanon faces economic losses of 20 billion from Israel Hezbollah conflict

Lebanon's economy minister has stated that the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hezbollah has resulted in the displacement of more than 20% of the country's population and has caused an estimated $20 billion in economic damage.

The figure includes both direct and indirect costs associated with the conflict. The minister warned that the financial impact could increase significantly if Israel were to target critical infrastructure such as airports and major roadways, potentially tripling or quadrupling the economic toll.

Lebanon's gross domestic product for 2023 is estimated to be around $18 billion, indicating that the conflict could have severe and long-lasting implications for the nation's economy.
