rental prices surge in schwyz as swiss market shows mixed trends

Rental prices in Switzerland are continuing to rise, with fluctuations observed across different cantons.

In September, there was a slight increase of 0.2 percent in overall rental offers compared to the previous month, resulting in a total of 128.1 points. This represents a year-on-year increase of 3.9 percent.

Among the cantons, Schwyz experienced a significant rise of 3.1 percent, while Uri, Fribourg, and Basel-Stadt also exceeded the average with increases of 1.3 percent and 1.0 percent, respectively. On the other hand, Schaffhausen, Graubünden, and Valais saw declines, with decreases of 1.4 percent, 1.0 percent, and 0.7 percent, respectively.

Looking at the year-on-year changes, Schwyz and Zug reported the largest increases in rental offers, at 11.4 percent and 11.1 percent, respectively. In terms of major cities, Basel had the highest monthly increase at 1.1 percent, while Lausanne experienced a slight decrease of 0.5 percent. Lucerne and Zurich also demonstrated significant year-on-year growth, with increases of 8.2 percent and 6.8 percent, respectively.
