Microsoft's potential interest in Ethereum ETFs has been discussed recently.
Matthew Sigel, Head of Digital Assets Research at VanEck, suggested that Microsoft may be open to investing in an Ethereum ETF if it meets the company's yield requirements. This speculation is based on Microsoft's acceptance of cryptocurrency payments since 2014 and its ongoing evaluation of digital assets.
Sigel also mentioned the possibility of Microsoft considering other cryptocurrencies, such as Solana. However, it should be noted that not all members of the Ethereum community agree with this interpretation.
Despite the potential interest in digital assets, Microsoft recently rejected a proposal to include Bitcoin as a reserve asset.
The approval of the first spot Ethereum ETFs by the SEC in June 2021 was seen as a significant milestone for the cryptocurrency market. Microsoft's involvement in digital assets could further legitimize the asset class and attract institutional interest.
As the landscape for digital assets evolves, Microsoft's decisions in this space will be closely watched by investors and industry experts.
