Amazon to launch quick commerce service in India by early 2024

Amazon is preparing to launch its quick commerce delivery service, known as Tez, in late December or early January. This move is significant as it marks Amazon's first foray into the quick commerce sector on a global scale.

The company is targeting the rapidly growing market in India, which generated around $5.5-6 billion in gross sales in November. Competitors such as Blinkit, Zepto, and Swiggy Instamart have been driving this growth.

Originally, Amazon had planned to introduce Tez in the first quarter of 2025, but recent reports suggest that the timeline has been accelerated. With its entry into quick commerce, Amazon is expected to disrupt India's fastest-growing online business segment, as it is the only major e-commerce player without a presence in this sector.
