BRICS nations, including India, Russia, and China, have expressed no intention of undermining the U.S. dollar, according to Indian External Affairs Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar.
Speaking at an event in Doha, Jaishankar emphasized that the group is not interested in creating or supporting an alternative currency to replace the dollar.
His comments come in response to recent statements from U.S. President-elect Donald Trump, who urged BRICS countries to refrain from any actions that could threaten the dollar's dominance, warning of potential 100% tariffs if they pursue such paths.
The remarks highlight ongoing discussions about currency stability and the geopolitical dynamics surrounding major economies.
