A legal dispute has arisen within the YS family, with YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and his wife, YS Bharati, filing a petition against YS Sharmila and YS Vijayamma at the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT).
The petition alleges irregularities in share transfers at Saraswati Power and Industries Private Limited, claiming violations of the Companies Act 2013. Jagan and Bharati argue that several share transfers in July 2024 did not follow proper legal procedures, such as using transfer forms and original certificates, which goes against Section 56 of the Act. They are seeking to cancel the transfer of over 12 million shares among family members and have named Janardhana Reddy Chagari and Telangana Registrar of Companies officials as respondents.
The NCLT is set to hear the case on November 8, 2024, to determine the ownership and governance of the company. The petitioners also aim to prevent any further changes to the company's structure until the matter is resolved.
