The United Arab Emirates is currently looking into the implementation of a pollution-charging mechanism as part of its commitment to combat climate change.
This proposal, put forth by Abu Dhabi’s Environment Agency, aims to encourage companies to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions.
Eva Torreblanca, a director in the agency’s policy and planning division, mentioned that the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment is actively considering different options for this system.
If approved, this initiative would establish the UAE as a leader in environmental sustainability efforts within the region.
