French nuclear output reaches highest level since 2015 as storms ease

French nuclear generation has reached its highest level for this time of year since 2015 due to a decrease in storm conditions. This has led to a significant increase in electricity prices across Europe.

In the most recent day-ahead auction on Epex Spot SE, German power prices more than doubled, rising from €55.01 to €112.75. Similarly, French electricity prices also experienced a substantial increase, climbing from €66.74 to €114.24. These changes in prices reflect the ongoing volatility in the energy market caused by shifting weather patterns.
