WeRide shares soar 21 percent following successful US IPO

WeRide Inc., a Chinese self-driving automotive company, experienced a 21% surge in its American depositary shares after its initial public offering in the U.S. The shares exceeded the IPO price of $15.50, reaching $18.80 each.

The company raised $440.5 million through a combination of its first-time share sale and private placement. Although the IPO was priced at the lower end of its marketed range, it was upsized by 20%, enabling the company to raise $120 million.
