markets decline for seventh consecutive session as major stocks fall

The Nifty index experienced its longest losing streak since February 2023, with markets closing in the red for the seventh consecutive session.

BPCL, TCS, Infosys, Trent, and Dr Reddy's Labs were among the major contributors to the decline, with losses ranging from 2.5 to 3 percent.

On the other hand, Hindalco, Hero MotoCorp, Tata Steel, HUL, and M&M emerged as the top gainers, with their shares rising between 1.5 and 4 percent.

This mixed performance reflects the ongoing volatility in the market as investors navigate current economic conditions.
