The company's revenue is mainly generated from the distribution of non-perishable food products, accounting for 51.3%. Fresh produce, including fruits, vegetables, and meats, contributes 23.8%, while supermarket operations and service stations make up 12.8% and 11.1% respectively. Kroger's pharmaceutical product distribution represents 9.5% of sales, with other activities, such as manufacturing food products for third parties, comprising 4.3%.

As of March 2, 2024, Kroger operates 2,722 supermarkets across the United States, including 2,257 locations with pharmacies and 1,665 that feature service stations.
