Sonam Kapoor, the Indian celebrity and co-owner of the Bhaane Group, has recently made headlines with her latest acquisition. She has purchased the renowned Rhythm House music store in Mumbai, a significant development in the city's retail landscape.
The 3,600-square-foot store, which had been closed since 2018, was previously owned by Nirav Modi, who faced financial difficulties leading to its closure. Now, under Sonam Kapoor's ownership, the store is set to make a comeback and reclaim its prominent position in Mumbai's music scene.
This acquisition, valued at approximately 478.4 million rupees ($5.7 million), was overseen by a resolution professional appointed by the Indian bankruptcy court. The sale marks a new chapter for Rhythm House, a store that has been a beloved establishment in the city for many years.
