Honda Cars India Limited (HCIL) has announced its plans to introduce three new models by the financial year 2026-27, with a focus on hybrid and battery electric vehicles (BEVs) in response to the increasing demand for low-emission options in the Indian market.
HCIL's President and CEO, Takuya Tsumura, highlighted the company's commitment to electrifying its powertrains while also continuing to operate in the mainstream internal combustion engine (ICE) segment.
Currently, HCIL offers the Elevate SUV, as well as the Amaze and City sedans. The upcoming models will include a hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) and a BEV, with more details to be shared as the product development progresses. However, Tsumura did not disclose whether HCIL is developing a B-segment ICE SUV to compete with popular models like the Tata Nexon and Hyundai Venue.
