Qatar Backs Out of Buying London's Most Expensive Mansion After Inspection

Qatar's interest in purchasing London's most expensive mansion, located at 2-8a Rutland Gate, has diminished after an evaluation revealed that the property requires extensive refurbishment.

The Gulf state had considered the residence in Knightsbridge as a potential new embassy and had sent an engineer to assess its condition towards the end of last year.

It has been reported that the necessary renovations would take approximately five years to complete, leading Qatar to withdraw from the potential purchase. The mansion, which offers views of Hyde Park, is still available for sale as there has been no indication of interest from other buyers at this time.
