Angola's government is currently engaged in talks with the International Monetary Fund regarding the possibility of a new lending program that is specifically designed to meet the country's needs as an oil producer.
The Finance Minister, Vera Daves de Sousa, has confirmed that they are considering different loan options and have prepared a document outlining these possibilities.
The discussions are currently in the technical evaluation stage, with plans to move on to political discussions afterwards. Sousa has mentioned that there are still some differences with the IMF regarding capital expenditures, indicating that the negotiations may be complex as both parties work towards aligning their financial strategies.
