K+S AG, a well-known German salt and potash producer, is reportedly being put up for sale, according to UBS.

The company operates in three main segments: salt, potash, and magnesium, along with complementary activities. The salt segment focuses on producing and marketing various types of salt, including food-grade, industrial, and de-icing salt, as well as sodium chloride brine.

In addition to salt, K+S's potash and magnesium segment specializes in producing and marketing potash fertilizers and related compounds for agricultural and industrial use. The company also offers recycling, waste disposal, and logistics services. K+S Transport GmbH and Chemische Fabrik Kalk GmbH play important roles in its logistics and trading operations.
