young entrepreneurs drop out of stanford to launch billion dollar startup

Aadit Palicha and Kaivalya Vohra, founders of Zepto, dropped out of Stanford University to pursue their entrepreneurial ambitions. The duo, both Computer Science students, faced challenges during the Covid-19 pandemic, which led them to reconsider their educational paths while in Mumbai.

Their journey began with a WhatsApp group and a year of experimentation before launching Zepto, a platform that has transformed India's hyperlocal delivery market. The startup has achieved a valuation of $5 billion, demonstrating the potential of quick-commerce in the region.

Palicha, speaking at the NDTV World Summit, reflected on their decision, highlighting their significant tinkering and passion for coding from a young age.
