Radicant, a subsidiary of Basellandschaftliche Kantonalbank (BLKB), has merged with Zurich-based start-up Numarics to expand its service offerings.
The new entity will focus on providing banking, financial investment, and administrative services for SMEs and private customers. The merger will enhance Radicant's capabilities and allow it to broaden its customer base. The primary objective of the merger is to achieve financial stability and profitability by the fiscal year 2027/28.
Anton Stadelmann, the former CEO of Radicant, will lead the merged organization. The Board of Directors will consist of six members, equally representing both companies. BLKB will retain a majority stake in Radicant, but additional investors may be involved.
The new company will operate out of Liestal and employ nearly 180 individuals. The headquarters will be in Liestal, while the operational units will continue to function from their existing locations.
The merger between Radicant and Numarics will have significant implications for the Swiss banking landscape, particularly in digital banking and fiduciary services. The new company aims to create an agile and responsive banking solution for SMEs and private clients. The integration of digital asset management with fiduciary services could position the new company as a leader in innovative financial solutions.
The focus on SMEs highlights the importance of this sector in driving economic growth and innovation. The industry will closely watch the collaboration between Radicant and Numarics to see how it shapes the future of banking in Switzerland.
