Vietnam's coffee supply is currently facing challenges due to a combination of factors. Growers are hoarding beans and delaying harvesting due to heavy rainfall. This has led to a 15-day delay in the harvest, caused by a series of storms in October.
Farmers are holding off on selling their coffee in anticipation of higher domestic prices. Nguyen Nam Hai, chairman of the Vietnam Coffee and Cocoa Association (Vicofa), believes that these disruptions will only be temporary. The market is currently experiencing a shortage of coffee beans due to the adverse weather conditions and strategic selling decisions made by farmers.
