Jungfrau Railways has announced a significant investment of CHF70 million in the development of new cableway installations at the First and Kleine Scheidegg ski regions.
The company aims to enhance transportation and visitor experience in one of Switzerland's popular winter sports destinations.
The investment will include the advanced "Triline" 3-cableway system, which will replace the existing First Railway.
The project also involves the construction of a new mountain lodge at First and the replacement of the Isch-Bodmi chairlift.
The total investment for the project, including snowmaking capabilities, is projected to exceed CHF100 million. The planning process for the new valley station is currently underway, with a focus on addressing spatial planning and architectural considerations.
The Kleine Scheidegg ski area will also undergo upgrades, including the replacement of the Wixi-Fallboden chairlift with a new six-seater chairlift.
These developments aim to improve the quality of service and maintain competitiveness in the winter sports market.
The investments are crucial for sustaining growth and enhancing the overall appeal of the region.
