Africa's financial markets are currently experiencing a significant expansion, which is the fastest since 2017. This growth is driven by a rebound in economic growth and a decrease in inflation rates.
Out of the 29 countries assessed, 23 have shown improved scores compared to the previous year, according to the latest Africa Financial Markets Index from Absa Group Ltd. The increase in the value of pension fund assets and enhanced foreign exchange reserves are key factors contributing to this growth.
Furthermore, access to global capital markets has been selectively restored, further strengthening the financial landscape of the continent. This positive trend demonstrates the resilience and potential of African markets in the current economic climate.
