Disney+ Hotstar's paid subscriber base increased by 1.1 percent to 35.9 million in the fourth quarter ending September 28, 2024, compared to 35.5 million in the previous quarter. This growth follows a challenging period for the streaming service, which saw declines in six of the last eight quarters.
In Q4-FY24, Disney+ Hotstar added 0.4 million paid subscribers, following a gain of 0.7 million in Q1-FY24. Walt Disney, which operates on an October to September financial year, reported a total of 174 million subscriptions across all platforms for the quarter. However, the average monthly revenue per paid subscriber for Disney+ Hotstar decreased to $0.78, down from $1.05 in the prior quarter, due to a decline in advertising revenues.
The streaming service's subscriber base reached its peak at 61.3 million in Q4-FY22, indicating significant fluctuations over the past two years.
