UBS Asset Management has introduced its inaugural tokenized investment fund, called the "UBS USD Money Market Investment Fund Token" or 'uMINT.' This innovative fund is specifically designed for authorized distribution partners in Singapore and aims to cater to the increasing demand for tokenization in the financial industry.
By converting traditional assets into digital tokens, UBS allows investors to efficiently trade institutional-level money market assets within a conservative, risk-managed framework. Tokenization is becoming more popular among major financial institutions, with Franklin Templeton expanding its OnChain U.S. Government Money Market Fund to include Coinbase’s Base as a supporting blockchain, and Wellington Management partnering with Ondo Finance to enhance liquidity for its newly launched tokenized U.S. Treasury Fund, thereby making traditional assets like Treasury bonds more accessible through blockchain technology.
