Nifty closes above 24250 driven by gains in auto and energy sectors

The Nifty 50 index experienced a rebound on November 27, closing above the 24,250 mark. This was driven by gains in the auto, energy, metal, and media sectors.

The index initially opened flat due to mixed global cues but saw a surge in buying during the second hour. It briefly crossed 24,350 before facing some selling pressure at higher levels, which trimmed the day's gains.

Adani Enterprises, Adani Ports, Bharat Electronics, Trent, and NTPC were the top performers, while Apollo Hospitals, Titan Company, Shriram Finance, Wipro, and IndusInd Bank faced losses.

The broader market indices, such as the Nifty Midcap index and the Nifty Smallcap index, outperformed the main index, with the former rising by 0.6 percent and the latter increasing by 1.3 percent.
