minimum pensions to rise in 2025 amid budget law challenges

The government recently announced that minimum pensions will be increased by 2.2 percent in 2025 and 1.3 percent in 2026 for pensions at or below the minimum threshold. This adjustment will raise the minimum pension from 614.77 euros to 617.9 euros.

Deputy Economy Minister Maurizio Leo addressed concerns about the October 31 deadline for the two-year composition agreement, stating that the government cannot grant an extension due to "objective situations related to the Budget Law." This message was delivered during a conference attended by representatives from four unions of accountants, highlighting the challenges faced in managing the arrangement.

Stakeholders have raised concerns about the expiration of the 2.7 percent increase scheduled in the Budget Law for 2024, but the government remains committed to its current timeline and adjustments.
