RWE AG reports strong energy sales and production figures for 2023

RWE AG, a major player in Europe's energy sector, has announced impressive sales figures for 2023. The company's revenue was primarily derived from electricity and gas trading and distribution, accounting for 80.5% of total sales.

Electricity sales reached 159,679 GWh, while gas sales amounted to 42,391 GWh. Renewable energy production contributed to 16.7% of sales, with a total output of 129,701 GWh from various sources such as wind, solar, hydroelectric, and biomass. Fossil and nuclear energy sources made up 2.8% of RWE's overall output.

Geographically, the majority of RWE's sales were concentrated in Germany (48.1%), followed by the United Kingdom (26.8%), Europe (19.5%), North America (4.2%), and other regions (1.4%). This distribution highlights RWE's strong presence in the European energy market and its commitment to expanding its renewable energy portfolio.
